An alumnus of the Berlinale Talent Campus, David is a Director of Photography based between London & Los Angeles. David's debut feature Bypass received its world premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival before a nomination for Cinematographer's Debut at Camerimage & winning the Grand Prize at Goldeneye Cinematography Festival. His next feature, Blood Cells, also premiered at Venice, before a nomination for The Michael Powell Award at Edinburgh. David then shot Netflix Original Series, The Innøcents, starring Guy Pearce. The dark Scandinavian/UK drama was Netflix's first European 4K HDR show and premiered across 190 countries in August 2018. David most recent film is biopic Black Beauty with director Ashley Avis for Disney. Shot on location in South Africa New York, the biopic stars Kate Winslet, Iain Glen, Mackenzie Foy & Claire Forlani. The film was released in late 2020 on Disney+ before being selected for Camerimage's 'Contemporary World Cinema' programme.
With early roots in documentary, David now shoots drama & commercials internationally, with experience shooting in over 40 countries worldwide. Maintaining a careful balance of dramatic work & technical challenge, David's work has graced awards at the likes of Abu Dhabi & Cannes Lions as well as a BIFA, VMA & Manaki Brothers nominations and six nominations for Golden Frogs at Camerimage Festival for the Art of Cinematography. In 2022 David was invited into the BSC - British Society of Cinematographers.
